Ffion seals the deal for Scarlets

In a hard fought 8-0 win, Ffion Jones scored the winning try which sealed the deal for the Scarlets Under 18's girls against the Blues.

The Scarlets went up 3-0 in the first half when captain Rebecca De Fillipo, opted for a penalty kick at goal, successfully booted over by No 8 Rebecca Norris. The Scarlets fought on until half time to go in at the interval still three points ahead.

An inspired team talk led by head coach Keith Jones, provided the Scarlets with the belief to go out and continue with their dominance in the second half.

The Blues looked dangerous on several occasions, with their back three working well, however gutsy defending by scrum half Catrin Rees and full back Elinor Phillips meant the Blues were pushed back out of the Scarlets half with no points to show for their efforts.

After a spell on the Blues try line, the Scarlets secured the win when the forwards drove on and prop Ffion Jones crossed the line.

The Scarlets hope to continue with their winning ways when they face their next opponents, the Dragons, on November 29th.
